An unofficial build of Thunderbird version 3.0.3 has been released (3/7/2010); it includes the Lightning calendar extension. Thunderbird is a mail / news client, based on Mozilla code. See my Warpzilla tips page for more information.
Unofficial builds of Firefox 3.5.8 and Seamonkey 2.0.3 have been released (2/19/2010) on netlabs.org FTP. Firefox is a stand-alone browser, based on Mozilla code. SeaMonkey is a continuation of the Mozilla Suite, and now features addon management, HTML 5 audio and video, tabbed mail, and more. See my Warpzilla tips page for more information. From VOICE News.
Warpstock 2010 will be held at the University of Waterloo, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, August 6th through 8th. There is a call for speakers to present on topics related to OS/2 and eComStation; submit your presentation ideas to presenters(at)warpstock(dot)org. Your proposal should contain a title and one paragraph synopsis of the topic to be presented. A range of registration options from $115 to $435 are available, with a deadline of June 30. The Warpstock 2010 logo can be displayed on other web sites to help publicity. Note that a passport is now required to travel between the USA and Canada. Thanks to Andy Willis for the info.
Warpstock Europe 2010 will be held May 14-16, in Trier, Germany, at the ERA Congress Centre. Proposals for presentations can now be made, and several are already confirmed. Registration for the event is available through Mensys. Trier lies in the very west of Germany, close to the border to Luxembourg. The oldest German city is located at the Mosel river and has a strong Roman heritage. From VOICE News.
The OS2World Bounty System lists several projects that developers can get paid for; the total current value of all bounties exceeds $3700. Users can help by sponsoring money to encourage development on the projects that are of interest to them. Open bounties include an OS/2 native port of Java 6, improving the icon routines in OS/2, ports of VirtualBox, Skype, VLC, and Abiword, and many more. The presentation DVD for Warpstock Europe 2009 is now available for download. It contains the presentation files, as well as videos from the sessions and a number of pictures taken during the event. It is a mixed-mode DVD that plays in a HiFi DVD player and also operates as a data disk in a PC. From VOICE News.

QT version 4.5.1 has been ported (2/5/2010) to OS/2. This is a cross-platform application and UI framework. Applications that use QT include VirtualBox, SMPlayer, Psi, Scribus, and LyX. You can follow the progress on the roadmap and milestones for the project; future plans include printer support, and updating to Qt 4.6.1. If you would like to contribute to this port, you can buy sponsoring units from Mensys; 100% of the money goes to netlabs.org. The QT4 runtime libraries and plugins are necessary for running programs built with the QT4 library. Included is an XCenter system tray plugin, which extends the functionality of earlier SysTray plugins. Note: the GA version does not appear to be backward-compatible with some older applications, built against the beta versions.
VMware now supports eComStation 1.2R on VMware vSphere 4.0 Update 1; support does not include VMware Tools. It is also listed in the VMware Compatibility Guide. From VOICE News.

Paul Smedley has released (3/7/2010) an OS/2 port of Apache version 2.2.15. Apache is the premiere web server of the Internet.
PHPMyAdmin version 3.3.0 has been released (3/7/2010). This is a set of PHP scripts to administer MySQL over the web.
Agena version 0.31.2 has been ported (3/7/2010) to OS/2. This is an interpreted language suited for sophisticated procedural programming, with syntax like simplified Algol 68, with elements taken from Lua and SQL.
Simple Image Resizer version 2.0.1 has been ported (3/7/2010) to OS/2. This is a QT4-based tool for resizing images.
The Samba server version 3.3.11 (labeled version 1.1 RC1) has been ported (3/4/2010) to OS/2. Also available (12/28/2009) is version 3.0.37 (labeled version 1.0.3). This allows you to share your files without the need of NetBIOS (IBM LAN Manager or IBM Peer).
EmperoarTV version 2.05a has been released (3/4/2010). This software brings support for many DVB cards, as well as the Hauppauge PVR150/250/350/500 TV cards to the OS/2 platform, including high quality MPEG2 hard disk recording and playback. You can listen to FM radio programs in stereo, watch TV programs in excellent image quality, and more. Also available is DVDFront, a front end that simplifies the creation of video DVDs out of recordings made by EmperoarTV. It supports both WarpOverlay and SNAP overlays. There is an online forum for discussion as well.
umix version 0.1 has been released (3/3/2010). This is another PM mixer for UniAud, that supports configuration files for matching up the mixer lines.

GBM version 1.65 has been released (3/2/2010). Generalised Bitmap Module is a library for handling many different bitmap file formats, and is used by applications like Mesa, PM-Raw, and PM-Exif. It includes a PM bitmap viewer and editor. It now features a REXX interface library, as well as plugins for Lucide and Mozilla. The source code is freely available and released as public domain. The latest features include support for JPEG 2000, including the OpenJPEG library and tools.
Walter Meinl has released (3/1/2010) Enigmail version 1.0.1 for OS/2; this allows you to use GnuPG with your email in Thunderbird and/or Seamonkey. OS2World has a tutorial on setting it up.
OpenSSL version 0.9.8m has been ported (3/1/2010) to OS/2. This is a robust, commercial-grade, full-featured, and Open Source toolkit implementing the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3) and Transport Layer Security (TLS v1) protocols, as well as a full-strength general purpose cryptography library.
tasteroids3 version 0.3 has been ported (2/28/2010) to OS/2. This is an Asteroids game using the QT4 libraries.
S.T.E. version 0.1.3 has been ported (2/28/2010) to OS/2. This is a feature-rich text editor using the QT4 libraries.
NASM version 2.08 RC10 has been released (2/28/2010). The NASM assembler has support for X86 multimedia extensions, and supports a various number of object formats, including the old .obj format of the Borland compilers.
VICE version 2.2 has been released (12/19/2009). This is a versatile Commodore emulator. It uses DIVE and DART, and supports fullscreen mode.
